Dr. Mark Hanson

Mark Hanson, O.D.

 
Dr. Mark Hanson brings over twelve years of vision care experience to Art of Optometry and is excited to have opened a new state-of-the-art practice in his hometown of Black River Falls, Wisconsin in 2011 and most recently in Neillsville, Wisconsin in 2013.

Dr. Hanson is a graduate of Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. During his training, he travelled to underdeveloped regions of Mexico and El Salvador delivering eye health exams and glasses to those who would not otherwise have access to eye care. Dr. Hanson also provided vision care at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (U.S. Military Hospital) in Baumholder, Germany, and the Marshfield Clinic, Marshfield, Wisconsin, as part of his clinical rotations, along with several vision centers in the Portland, Oregon area. He was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, and graduated with distinction.

Dr. Hanson earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology from Viterbo University, La Crosse, Wisconsin. He is a combat veteran of Desert Storm. He continues to work with the military, providing eye care to the U.S. Army National Guard and the Army Reserve.
Outside of work, Dr. Hanson enjoys woodworking, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Hanson is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Wisconsin Optometric Association.

The new clinic is equipped with state of the art technology allowing Dr. Hanson to provide the highest quality of care to established and new patients. Diagnoses, treatment, and management of glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration as well as other diseases of the eye are available at Art of Optometry. Contact lenses are also available as well as a large selection of eyeglasses, and safety glasses. Outside prescritions for eyeglasses and contact lenses are always welcome. The optical dispensary offers a large selection of designer frames and sunglasses.

Dr. Laura Schroeder

Laura Schroeder, O.D.

 
Dr. Laura Schroeder has loved being back in Wisconsin after finishing her optometry degree at the Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, Texas in 2015. She graduated with honors and was valedictorian of her class. While on externships in both San Antonio and New Orleans, she gained valuable experience with a wide variety of patients. Dr. Schroeder has training in the treatment and management of many eye diseases including cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye. She also has a background in contact lenses.

Dr. Schroeder is from Altoona and obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in biology from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. After that she moved to San Antonio to obtain her optometry degree. She is looking forward to bring her expertise back to her home state. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, hiking, camping, and fishing. She also likes to spend time with her family.
